You might be familiar with the name Harley Davidson. It is an American company that manufactures motorcycle since 1903. Harley-Davidson is known for customizing a new style of motorcycle known as chopper. The first Harley-Davidson chopper was built in America.
How Chopper Was Invented?
With the end of World War II, the American soldiers were returning from the battle and they were unable to adjust the mundanity of civilian life. They were dissatisfied with the motorcycle built by Harley-Davidson and Indian as those were sleeker, lighter.
As the motorcycles of that time were not powerhouses, the manufacturer decreases the weight to increase the performance of it. They removed fenders, chains, guards, lights, big seats and so on. But in 1945 the term chopper has changed in “boober”.
After years, chopper bikes was changed into longer, bigger and more outlandish bikes. The front tire was made sleeker where the back tire was made thicker. Some people also remove the battery and used magneto for decreasing the weight. At that time, the gas tank, headlight and the blinkers were small as compared to the previous model of Harley-Davidson chopper. In recent ages, choppers become more attractive as compared to the previous look.
